We urge you to remain vigilant & practice the 3D’s

Message from Chief Scout Brendon Hausberger

Greetings Scouting Members,

Firstly, let us acknowledge our students and learners – most of whom have or will shortly complete their exams.  I hope that the results you get will reflect the hard work you have put into your learning. I congratulate you all on your achievements despite the challenges of studying and writing exams under COVID, power and water load shedding. We are proud of your resilience!

Following our Presidents address, and the ongoing information on the omicron variant, I am relieved that currently we can continue with our activities and outdoor programme without further constraint.

However, I believe that the message also contained a warning for us all that we are going to have to continue the good fight if we wish to retain the current and perhaps even obtain further freedom.

So, I am calling on all of our members to not drop the ball at this late stage in the game.  Persist with the 3D’s of social distancing, wearing your masks and sanitising as appropriate.  For those of you who are able to, but have not yet done so, I encourage you to get vaccinated, or if you are half way, to complete the process.

None of us wish to see a repeat of the Christmas restrictions that last year brought, and the power is in our hands to ensure that the infection numbers do not get to a point for those constraints to be brought back.

Be safe and take care of yourselves and one another.

Yours in Scouting,

Brendon
Chief Scout
