What will you need for JOTA or JOTI?

Once registered, for either JOTA “Jamboree of the Air”, or JOTI “Jamboree on the Internet”, have a read through the requirements and decide what you are able to do.

For JOTA, you will need a Radio Ham to assist. Sufficient time is required to arrange this. There are plenty around the country. Contact SSA’s National JOTA JOTI Coordinator Richard Hooper for assistance Richard.hooper@scouts.org.za

4th durban joti jotaFor a JOTI event, all you need is a computer and an internet connection. All the details are online and available to you when you register. If you do need assistance, contact SSA’s National JOTA JOTI Coordinator Richard Hooper Richard.hooper@scouts.org.za

It’s not difficult to setup an event at your Scout Hall. All you need is a couple of Cubs and Scouts and a Scouter or two to organize the weekend. It’s a great opportunity to have Pack and Troop working together. Run a badge or two over the weekend, and take part in the International game, JamPuz. No need to run the entire weekend either; you choose what days to run according to your Group’s schedule. The busiest times are on the Saturday.
