Message from Dr Trueman Goba, Chair Scout Board

Milly Siebrits CEO SCOUTS South AfricaFor over 19 years Milly Siebrits has been working at the National Scout Office. She joined the South African Scout Movement in 2003 as a project manager, and since 2007 as Chief Executive Officer. It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing that Milly will be leaving SCOUTS South Africa to step into a position at the World Scout Bureau in Malaysia at the end of March.

Milly has been instrumental in spearheading the revitalization of South African Scouting in order to ensure a holistic approach to youth development and to address the current societal and environmental needs. Her passion for the development of youth and her drive to make a difference in the communities we serve has inspired many of us over the years.

Milly, we want to express our sincerest appreciation for the time you gave to Scouting in South Africa. Thank you for your outstanding leadership, your vision and commitment, your support to members, volunteers, staff, and members of the board. Your professionalism and ability to keep us on course despite the budget constraints and recent Covid pandemic is admirable. I know that I am not alone in stating that your respect for volunteers and your words of encouragement during the hard times will be missed. It is clear that we will have big shoes to fill. You are an asset to Scouting and we are looking forward to seeing you thrive at the World Scout Bureau.
